Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- After the bomb threat was cleared, students were allowed back on campus at one o'clock. Most students are not worried about returning to classes, they trust that the threat has been cleared. Many have dealt with bomb threats before that turned out to be nothing.
Quintin Porter: I've had people do this before. I've heard of maniacs where they just want to get attention. So, they accuse a bomb threat or plant stuff just to have the attention on them.
Most students say they don't feel they are in any danger, but this is the second bomb threat in Fargo this week.
That was enough to make Brittney Haugen think twice about staying on campus through the weekend.
Haugen: "It kind of scares me a little bit if I stay on the weekend but it happens again. Because I've heard about it happening in Bismarck and then the airport, too."
But when the call to evacuate came in, students hardly had time to think.
They just knew they needed to leave, and quickly.
Haugen: "When we went through the dorms, it was kind of fear, because we didn't know if it was real or not. We thought it was a joke at first."
Melissa Neitzke: "I just kind of packed all my stuff as fast as I could and got off campus. Tried to get out of here."
Those living on campus with nowhere to go hung out across the street, waiting for word to return to the dorms.
Even though everything turned out fine, students were glad officials took the threat seriously.
Daniel Loch: "With the extent of the precautions they're taking, they make it seem like it's important, so it's something to take seriously."
Police and university officials say this is the first full evacuation of the campus that they know of. And they say with the students' calm response, it could not have gone more smoothly.
