Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- The intensity was up a notch at Concordia this week, that's because the conference season is here for the Cobbers and they'll find out how good they are this Saturday.

Concordia travels to St. Olaf this weekend, the Oles were picked to finish 3rd in the MIAC.

The Cobbers lost their final game last year at St. Olaf when three of their 7 turnovers were returned for scores. Erasing that bad taste is extra motivation. Proving they can compete with the elite teams in the league is another.

Tom Knowlton, Concordia Sr. Tackle, says, "I think it's a real test for our confidence, having to go down there, hostile environment, and perform. As a team, I think we're gonna learn who we are I guess. Really a defining moment for our season, it starts right now."

Bryce Hentges, Concordia Jr. Safety, says, "If we play well against those guys, we can play well against anyone in the league. If we're ready to shoot for the top of the MIAC, the only way to do it is to play the best teams and what other way to do it than start off with St. Olaf."

Cobbers have won this game two of the last 3 years in what's nicknamed the "battle for the troll"
