Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Famed aviator Bob Odegaard likely would have shrugged off all the attention and accolades.

As mourners today remembered North Dakota's Aviation Legend, they first gathered at the Fargo Air Museum, hours before the funeral this afternoon.

Many friends who were pilots came in for the "fly-in" breakfast at the museum for pancakes, coffee, and Bob Odegaard stories.

They were here from across the country, to honor the man who knew, flew and restored planes like no other.

Gene Soucy, Houston, TX: “He was the nicest guy in the world, I am sure that is what everyone says he knew more about airplanes more than anyone in the country. Just knew everything about airplanes, what make them tick you know.”
