MOORHEAD – A Moorhead man who was sentenced two weeks ago for a string of burglaries was arrested again Monday night for allegedly peeping into a young girl’s bedroom window.
Police Lt. Tory Jacobson said a neighbor spotted Juan Quevedo looking into the window at about 8:41 p.m. in the 800 block of 13th Street North. After calling police, the neighbor confronted Quevedo and made sure he stayed there until officers arrived, Jacobson said.
Quevedo, 28, was arrested on a probation violation, and a gross misdemeanor charge of interference with privacy related to the alleged peeping incident is pending, Jacobson said.
Quevedo was sentenced Aug. 30 in Clay County District Court to time served in jail, restitution and five years of supervised probation, for burglarizing two Moorhead insurance agencies and trying to break into a third.
Assistant County Attorney Jenny Samarzja said at the time that Quevedo remained a suspect in four to six additional burglary cases and that prosecutors were waiting on forensic analysis of fingerprint and DNA evidence.
