North Dakota Guard military police to serve at Guantanamo

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Some North Dakota Army National Guard military police officers will serve a year of duty at the U.S. Navy base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Some North Dakota Army National Guard military police officers will serve a year of duty at the U.S. Navy base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The 191st Military Police Company is based in Fargo with detachments in Mayville and Bismarck. About 30 members are being deployed. Their mission at the high-security prison is expected to begin after they go to Fort Bliss in Texas in late October for final training.

Members of the 191st also have served in Iraq.
