UND quarterback, Marcus Hendrickson, ties UND record

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- What a story written in Grand Forks on Saturday? UND quarterback Marcus Hendrickson had been a back-up his entire career, but got thrust into a starting role because of injury and he blew the top off the Alerus Center.

The Perham native tied a program record, passing for 6 touchdowns in UND's Big Sky dress rehearsal 45-37 victory over Portland State. He surprised many, but not himself.

Hendrickson says, " I prepared very well. I knew what they were going to bring. I was kind of skittish when they brought the blitzes. I need to work on that and keep my poise, but, yeah I expected this."

Hendrickson was named national player of the week by College Football Performance.
