WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The city of West Fargo has sued a glass recycling company, alleging the firm hasn't followed an order to reduce emissions.
The Forum reports that neighboring businesses complained last year about soot, dust and odor emanating from Glass Advantage Inc.'s facility, saying it was leaving a dust residue on vehicles and causing headaches and rashes for some of their employees.
The City Commission ordered the company last year to submit a plan within two weeks to take care of the public nuisances.
The lawsuit claims the company hasn't submitted a plan. The city is seeking a permanent injunction to stop the company from using its chimney,
Company general manager Hugh Sobolik says new equipment expected to be installed in the next few weeks that will fix the emission problems.
