Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- People in the Carl Ben neighborhood in South Fargo are fed up with crime and are now taking action.
They're holding a block party tomorrow night from 5 to 10 at 20th street and 11th avenue. The purpose is to start a watch program and to talk about crime issues and ways to prevent crime.
They also want to get to know one another and become a closer community. Organizers say the crime in the area is getting worse and it's time to do something about it.
John Lachance, organizer, says, "It's a great neighborhood, it's got a lot of history in this neighborhood and we're just trying to head off a potential problems before they get really out of hand, it's like what is thievery going to lead to, broken in garages, broken in vehicles and stuff like that, like I said we've got a lot of kids in the neighborhood and we want to protect our homes."
The block party is open to everyone.
