ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A panel of administrative law judges has found that 11 Republican state senators and former House Speaker Steve Sviggum (SWIG'-uhm) broke a state law by distributing taxpayer-paid literature that included a political fundraising link.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A panel of administrative law judges has found that 11 Republican state senators and former House Speaker Steve Sviggum broke a state law by distributing taxpayer-paid literature that included a political fundraising link.

The Office of Administrative Hearings ruled Wednesday that the brochures distributed at February's Republican precinct caucuses failed to include a required campaign disclaimer.

The judges are fining Senate Majority Leader Dave Senjem, Senate President Michelle Fischbach and nine other senators $75 each. Sviggum, who serves as the Senate GOP caucus spokesman, must pay $200.

The ruling came after the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party filed a complaint.

The other senators are Al DeKruif, Chris Gerlach, Gretchen Hoffman, Benjamin Kruse, Ted Lillie, Claire Robling, Ray Vandeveer, Pam Wolf and John Pederson.
