Thursday App of the Week: Fantasy Football

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's that time of year again; millions of men and women across the county go into a bunker for the next four months. It's fantasy football season. There’s no need for a computer this year - all the major sites will let you draft, trade and play right from your smartphone.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's that time of year again; millions of men and women across the county go into a bunker for the next four months. It's fantasy football season. There’s no need for a computer this year - all the major sites will let you draft, trade and play right from your smartphone.

It's been a few years since I've slapped on the pads, but by no means does that mean I've stopped playing football. Of course, now it's mostly done right here in the palm of my hand - because for my fantasy football addiction, there's an app for that.

Fall is here. It's football time. Madden 2013 was just released, most likely throwing a kink into several relationships…and it's fantasy football drafting season. Whether you're playing Yahoo, ESPN or CBSSports, there's an App for nearly every Fantasy Football league out there.

Draft your team, claim a player off waivers, even make trades right from your smartphone. All three applications are free, and fairly similar in format. Check out who you're playing, make adjustments to your lineup. Hear about an injury? Don’t wait until you get home to make a change - just use your thumbs.

Many won't get it, but if you're one of the estimated 30 million people that play fantasy football, these might just be the Apps for you.

All the major fantasy football applications are available on both the Android and Apple market.
