Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - State law is being blamed for the release of a man convicted in a burglary spree. Twenty-eight year-old Juan Quevedo will walk free today after serving just 144 days in jail.
Quevedo was caught breaking into the Strand and Marcy Insurance Agency, as well as linked to burglaries at 2 other insurance companies. Police say Quevedo is a suspect in 4 to 6 other burglaries. An assistant county attorney says they're waiting on DNA evidence in those cases.
If Quevedo is charged and convicted in the other burglaries, he could qualify for a prison sentence.
