Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - Target Field will get the highest honor a baseball field can these days by hosting the All-Star Game. Bud Selig made it official today as the Twins will host the Mid-Summer Classic in 2014.

It will come just five years after the ballpark opened, back in 2010, and will be the third time the team hosts the game. Plenty has changed in baseball since the last time the game was in the Cities.

Bud Selig – MLB Commissioner: “Given what's happened here, the ballpark everything else, it was really pretty easy. I just don't like to do this to soon, but I knew a long time ago where the 2014 All-Star game was going. It's coming here because it's the right thing to do and this is the right place to be.”

Selig projects the game could raise anywhere from $75 to $100 million for the city.
