Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A year ago at this time, the RedHawks were finishing up the most disappointing season in franchise history. Tonight, they open their final regular season home series as North Division champions on the American Association, hosting the Laredo Lemurs.

It's been a crazy summer to say the least. After starting 9-17 and being 9 and a half games out of the division lead at one point, the Hawks have gone 52-15 in their last 67 games. It makes this title a little sweeter for the players.

Eric Campbell – RedHawks 3rd Baseman: “Winning the division is a big thing over 100 games. A lot of people think it's just about getting in the playoffs but some people look at it about the whole overall season of work that you've done.”

Zach Penprase – RedHawks Shortstop: “It's important, but at the same time you can't clinch early and take it easy and take these next seven games and roll into the playoffs.”

As division champions, the Hawks chose to play the first two games at home in their best of five first round playoff series.
