FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A fast food restaurant worker in Fargo is credited with rescuing a man from a burning car.
A person who came through the drive-thru at the Hardee's restaurant early Monday alerted 33-year-old Tim Koester that smoke was coming from a car in the parking lot.
Koester tells The Forum newspaper that he unbuckled the man inside the vehicle, who appeared to be drunk and passed out. Koester says after he pulled the man out of the car the gas tank exploded.
The 50-year-old man inside the car was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Fire officials say the blaze started in the trunk of the car and was ruled unintentional. The car was destroyed.
