Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo police are investigating a strange robbery. One man robbery and assaulted, in one South Fargo neighborhood. The suspects have not been found.
When officers arrived on the scene, they saw two males wearing dark clothing standing over the 29-year-old victim. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
One officer chased the muggers, but was unable to catch them.
The victim told police the two males approached him and demanded money.
He was knocked to the ground as he struggled with them, and heard one of the suspects tell the other to "shoot him."
They took his wallet, kicked him in the face, and fled.
The suspects have not been found, and police are investigating why the muggers targeted that man in that neighborhood.
Lt. Joel Vettel, Fargo Police Department: “We just don't see that type of behavior in that neighborhood very often. And so, it's something we are looking at, trying to determine exactly what happened. Again, it's one of those situations that, being so odd, we certainly don't feel that there should be any concern to the public.”
Officers did recover the gun, a BB gun designed to look like a pistol, which the suspects apparently dropped.
The mugging happened around 9:30 p.m., around 15th Avenue and 14 1/2 street south.
