Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - New students at Concordia aren't just learning class schedules and where they'll be held. They are also getting a lesson in giving back.

It's the 19th annual "Hands for Change" outreach event at Concordia.

Students are sent out into the community to volunteer in 37 different service projects.

They will spend time cleaning, painting, sorting food donations, moving furniture and much more.

Kelsey Rausch, Concordia: “Well it sets the precedent right away. We start community service projects so like sets the precedent that that's what we should be doing all four years here as a Cobber.”

The outreach event is held during new student orientation week at Concordia.
