FARGO – A man was robbed at gunpoint and kicked in the face during a mugging Sunday night in south Fargo, police said.

The incident was reported at 9:35 p.m. in the area of 15th Avenue and 14½ Street South.

The victim told police he was approached by two males wearing dark clothing. They demanded money, and he began to struggle with them until one of them pulled out a handgun, Sgt. Jared Crane said.

The victim went to the ground, and the suspects took his wallet, kicked him in the face and fled on foot, Crane said.

Police recovered the weapon, which the suspects apparently dropped while running from the scene, Crane said. It appeared to be a BB gun designed to look like a real pistol, he said.

The suspects hadn’t been identified.
