Power is restored in Grand Forks after nearly an hour

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Thousands of people in Grand Forks were without power late last night and early this morning for nearly an hour.
A representative from Excel Energy says 8,085 customers were without power because of a lighting strike. Power was out for a total of 54-minutes before being restored at 12:30 this morning.
Grand Forks was hit by severe weather late Friday and carried on past midnight. The Weather Service said hail of point-88 inches in diameter was reported during the storm.
