Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Help is on the way for local families needing winter coats. The Family Life Thrift Store on 45th Street South will be collecting winter coats and new socks for adults and children.

The store has been alerting area churches about the program called "A Coat Before the Storm." It's the second year of the donation project; 350 coats were distributed last time.

The Family Life Thrift store just asks that the coats be clean the socks, new.

Joe Larson - Family Life Thrift Store: "Any coat, good clean coat, new or used we had a lot of people last year that brought in new coats with tag still on them that is the kind of community we have."

Coats and socks can be dropped off at the Family Life Thrift Store, located at 1000 45th Street South, across from Kroll's Diner.
