Jamestown, ND (WDAY TV) - A 12 person jury convicted Leron Howard, 35, of Jamestown, of murder and criminal conspiracy in the death of a Somali immigrant Thursday. The verdict was delivered a short time ago in Southeast District Court in Jamestownn.
Abdi Ali Ahmed’s body was found in a road ditch near Spiritwood on April 30, 2011. An autopsy determined Ahmed, 18, had died of blunt force trauma and had also been stabbed in the abdomen. Jurors began deliberating on Wednesday and continued deliberating Thursday before reaching a verdict. The charges are Class AA felonies punishable by life in prison without parole.
