Deal reached for $167 million in Minnesota flood relief

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota lawmakers have agreed on a relief package for northern Minnesota communities hit hard by flash-flooding in June.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota lawmakers have agreed on a relief package for northern Minnesota communities hit hard by flash-flooding in June.

The package is for $167 million.

Gov. Mark Dayton had originally proposed $190 million in relief, but Republicans had balked at that figure as too high.

The deal announced Wednesday will be taken in a special session of the Legislature on Friday afternoon.
