Man arrested in Moorhead following short police pursuit

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A man was arrested in Moorhead following a short pursuit by a Clay County Deputy. Shortly before 6 AM Wednesday, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle in south Moorhead. The driver refused to stop and lead the deputy on a short chase lasting approximately 4 minutes with speeds reaching 60 miles-per-hour.

The driver, 25 year-old Michael Cheney, jumped from his vehicle while it was still moving and the vehicle came to a rest after hitting a fence and two vehicles. Cheney was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Two passengers in the vehicle were released with no charges and no injuries in the pursuit.
