Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - Our fall camp tour takes us to a building football power and the Kindred Vikings tonight.
Kindred is coming off a breakthrough season in 2011, making the state semifinals for the first time in school history but to keep up that type of progress, they have to replace All-State lineman Jack Plankers, now at NDSU and they know the challenge that lies ahead.
Tanner Lesley, Kindred Sr. Linebacker: “It is really tough to replace that caliber of players. I think we have the talent to do it.”
Cody Kittelson, Kindred Head Coach: “It's a concern for us. We feel like we have kids in place that can be successful. We didn't graduate any defensive backs. We feel good there. Our d-line will be solid there.”
The Vikings open Friday night with Oak Grove, our tour tomorrow makes a stop with the Wahpeton Huskies.
First Down Friday returns for another season this Friday night and we're ready to rock with two schools separated by about 5 minutes, Shanley and Davies. We're live there at 6 and 10.
You can be a part of First Down Friday. Go to the WDAY Facebook page and you can vote for our people's picks games. Some good matchups, including a rivalry game between Northern and Central Cass. You can vote until Thursday at 6.
