Fatal accident kills 3 generations of women

Willmar, MN (WDAY TV) -- 3 generations of women are dead, and police say alcohol was a factor in the head on collision that killed the women.

An 8 year old is among the dead, along with her mother and grandmother. It happened on Highway 12 last night at about 9 near Willmar.

Police say a 21 year old Norwood man crossed the center line and collided with the minivan the family was in. Another person in the minivan, a 5 year old boy remains hospitalized at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Police say alcohol was detected on the 21 year old driver -- he was treated at a hospital and then arrested on tentative charges of criminal vehicular homicide.
