Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Along with Carlo Cota, shortstop Zach Penprase is the longest tenured RedHawk. Now in his 5th season with Fargo Moorhead, Penprase appears to be getting better with age.
The 27 year old is having arguably his finest season as a RedHawk.
Penprase is 40 of 43 in stolen bases, which leads the American Association. He's also hitting .322. Plus, his on base percentage is 3rd in the league, which is a large reason he's scored more runs than anyone else, and a big reason why the Hawks turned their season around after a slow start.
Penprase says, "I think I'm a much better player than I was four years ago. I worked on hitting the inside pitch this offseason and one thing that's a big difference for me this year is hitting with two strikes. I've done a lot better this year hitting with two strikes."
