Barnesville, MN (WDAY TV) -- Students in Barnesville will be learning from more then just textbooks this school year, each student will now have I-Pads.

Parents and students filled the high school today to pick up and learn about their new I-Pad. The school system is now leasing 900 I-Pads for three years.

Students grade 4 through 12 will be able to take their I-pads home, but grades K through 3 will only be able to use them at school. School officials say these I-Pads give students the best technology to learn with.

Scott Loeslie, Superintendent, says, "with a collaboration, and the communication, presentation skills, that our kids will develop, how they work with teachers will be completley different, it's going to be a real exciting experience for both the teacher and the learner."

Loeslie says the hope is that the I-Pads will eventually replace textbooks.
