NDSU's Stevens Auditorium being renamed

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- After an extensive renovation, the biggest and most-used auditorium on NDSU's campus is getting a new name.

Formerly Stevens Auditorium, the 1960's era space will now be known as Gate City Bank Auditorium. There are new seats and carpeting, updated technology, and easier access for people with disabilities. The renovation was made possible by a $500,000 gift from the bank.

Jay Krabbenhoft - Vice President of Gate City Bank: "It was interesting to note that when we started visiting with the University, they said over 90% of all NDSU students will take a class in this room, so it's quite meaningful for us to give back."

A dedication ceremony for the auditorium is scheduled for Monday.
