Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Viking fans will get a chance to see their team in action for the first time at the Metrodome this Friday when they host Buffalo and despite the good news about Adrian Peterson's possible return, there are still plenty of questions.

I asked FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer for the answers.

Dom: “I think the Vikings are probably overlooked by most national media. You were here over the last couple of days. Give me a sense of what you think. They play in a really hard division in the NFC North, what’s your analysis of what you see for the Vikes.”

Jay Glazer, FOX NFL Insider: “First thing is Adrian Peterson. He may be the biggest freak of nature I've ever seen, condition wise. You see him, the regiment that Shug the trainer is putting him through. Yesterday he said ‘I can do anything and everything.’ They almost have to protect him from himself. If he can get in there and be the old Adrian, and Ponder can continue to develop, the one thing you have understand is we don't know what we don't know. Who would have thought the 49ers would be a team to avoid on the schedule? Sometimes things just click, never going to put a team in the cellar, never going to anoint anyone a king because you have no idea how it's going to play out. If your quarterback plays well, running back a beast, pass rush that you have, may be able to do some damage.”

Dom: “The additions that they made, John Carlson and Jerome Simpson, what do you think they can do for the offense?”

Jay Glazer: “Simpson's a stud. He's athletically an elite receiver, I think he can help out stretch out the field. When you have a great running back like Adrian Peterson everyone loads up to stop the run, that puts you at a huge advantage.”

Dom: “Expectations. They play with Packers, Lions Bears.”

Jay Glazer: “Really low expectations. If everyone thinks we'll be terrible, let's let them think we'll be terrible. When you look at personnel, it's not bad. You have the best defensive end in league, the best running back in league, they can do some damage. It's like the ancillary characters. If they can produce the team can be good. If the other ancillary characters don't produce, doesn't matter how good Jared and Adrian are, just not going to produce wins.”
