Clay County (WDAY TV) -- After a 5-month investigation, the Clay County Sheriff's office has ruled the death of 27-year-old Jared Nilles an accident.

The Fargo mans body was found March 19th along the railroad tracks between Glyndon and Hawley. Nilles was traveling aboard the Empire Builder passenger train when authorities believe he opened a door and fell out. There were no witnesses.

The autopsy report indicates Nilles' approximate blood-alcohol level was .37 at the time of the accident.

Stephen Landsem - Clay County Sheriff's Department; "We looked at it to rule out any type of foul play that was involved and none of our investigation led us down a path where there was foul play involved in anything that happened."

The sheriff's department said it could reopen the investigation if there is new evidence.
