JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Jury selection has started in the trial of a Jamestown man accused of killing a Somali immigrant.

The Jamestown Sun reports that lawyers are choosing from a pool of 81 people for the jury in the murder and conspiracy trial of 34-year-old Leron Howard. Howard has pleaded not guilty in the April 2011 death of 18-year-old Abdi Ali Ahmed, who was beaten and stabbed before his body was dumped in a ditch near Spiritwood.

A Jamestown jury in February convicted 22-year-old Janelle Cave on manslaughter and criminal conspiracy charges in the case. She is required to testify in Howard's trial as part of her sentence.
