Detroit Lakes area housing market recovering

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - The housing market in lakes country has the signs of a recovery to pre-recession levels.

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - The housing market in lakes country has the signs of a recovery to pre-recession levels.

The median sale price for a house in the Detroit Lakes, Frazee, Lake Park and Pelican Lake area is up 27-percent from last year, going from $135,000 to $172,000.

Realtors say it's still a buyers’ market but strongly bending toward a good time to sell. There have been more sales and now fewer homes up for grabs.

Realtors say all signs that right now point to a bounce back. Interest rates remain at record lows.
