Sturgis, SD (WDAY TV) -- The official start to the 72nd annual Sturgis bike rally is Monday -- but looking at the place today, you'd never know.
Oakes, ND (WDAY TV) - A North Dakota woman was among the eight people killed in crashes at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
Sheila Coleman, who was 43 years old and from Oakes, died Friday when her motorcycle hit a pickup driven by a Colorado man. Authorities say Coleman was not wearing a helmet.
50 people in all were injured in crashes at Sturgis, down from 80 last year. 251 people were arrested for drunken driving, up from 235. Misdemeanor drug arrests were up, 185 of them from 149 last year. There were 34 felony drug arrests, down 43 last year.
