North Dakota man takes 2nd at National AARP Spelling Bee

Northwood, ND (WDAY TV) -- Larry Grossman from Northwood, North Dakota finished second in the A-A-R-P National Spelling Bee this weekend.

Northwood, ND (WDAY TV) -- Larry Grossman from Northwood, North Dakota finished second in the A-A-R-P National Spelling Bee this weekend.

Grossman was going for his second national title, he won the event back in 2008. 48 spellers from 24 states competed in the event which takes place each year in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

For second place Grossman takes home a check for 800-dollars and a 3-year AARP membership. A man from Arlington, Virginia took first place.
