East Grand Forks honors those who helped keep the city safe

East Grand Forks, MN (WDAY TV) -- Today's 125th celebration in East Grand Forks didn't forget about those who have helped keep the town safe over the years.

East Grand Forks, MN (WDAY TV) -- Today's 125th celebration in East Grand Forks didn't forget about those who have helped keep the town safe over the years.

A ceremony was held this afternoon at the civic center to honor Veterans, police and fire fighters for their role in the city's history. The event included the mayors from both Grand Forks and East Grand Forks thanking those men and women.

Chief commander David Carlson with the Grand Forks Air Force Base says, "The program was phenomenal. Mayor Stauss did phenomenal job the whole team, wonderful job, wonderful tribute to the military, fire department and law enforcement."

Organizers say It was a good turn out for the event.. as several hundred people showed up for the ceremony.
