Sturgis bike rally wraps up with another fatality

Sturgis, SD (WDAY TV) -- The Sturgis bike rally wraps up, and with it some grim statistics, including an Oakes woman being one of 8 people who died during the rally.

Sturgis, SD (WDAY TV) -- The Sturgis bike rally wraps up, and with it some grim statistics, including an Oakes woman being one of 8 people who died during the rally.

Police say 43 year-old Sheila Coleman was killed Friday when her motorcycle struck a pickup. She was not wearing a helmet.

Overall injury accidents were down however, with 50 reports this year compared to 80 last year.

251 people were arrested for driving drunk. That's 16 more tickets than 2011.

Misdemeanor drug arrests were also up from 149 to 185. Felony drug arrests were down from 43 to 34.

Preliminary stats show this years traffic numbers were higher than last year.
