Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) - Today the pads and helmets were put on for the first time this season across schools in North Dakota as football fall camps opened. Our annual tour begins at Fargo Davies where the Eagles broke through last year making the state tournament in just their second year of varsity play.

Davies did graduate several of their key players at the skill positions, but the returners say they're ready to pick up the slack.

Jason Thielges, Davies Head Coach: “I'm excited about our defense. We return 9 of 11 starters on defense. We feel like we have the guys that can fill in from some of those positions where we graduated players last year. We're going to learn as we go but they definitely have the talent to get the job done. I feel like this is the best team that we've had so far that we've been here at Davies and I'm excited for them.”

Eric Peterson, Davies Sr. TE/LB: “We don't really have a weak spot and because of that we're going to be able to hang in there with every opponent and probably be at the top of the EDC.”

We say so long to Fargo Davies and hello to Fargo South tomorrow, stop number 2 of 24 on our fall camp tour.
