Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The annual Stroll for Epilepsy will begin at 6:30 on Thursday at the FargoDome Registration is at 5.
This year's Shining Star is Cole Chase of West Fargo. The 8 year-old was diagnosed a few years ago. His epilepsy is now under control with the medication he takes.
Through the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota, Cole and his family have been able to educate friends, classmates, teachers and more about his epilepsy.
Unlike years ago, where families felt they could not talk about or reveal their condition, the foundation works to get rid of the stigma.
Dawn Chase - Cole's Mom: "Bullying is out of control as we know, and Cole is different and his epilepsy impacts him differently than other kids. He is socially delayed and it is important that his friends and teachers know that what is going on with him is out of his control."
