Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The NDSU men's basketball team has had the opportunity to play some of the heavyweights in college hoops, from Wisconsin to Florida to Kansas. They'll play royalty this upcoming season.

NDSU will open next season in Bloomington, Indiana against the Hoosiers on November 12th. Indiana will more than likely be preseason number one come this fall. Tom Crean brings back 4 starters from last year's Sweet 16 team that went 27-9. It will be a stern test for the up and coming Bison.

Saul Phillips – Bison Head Coach: “Certainly, another first for our program playing potential number one in the nation. I’m kind of cheering for them to be number one in the nation because it'd be neat for NDSU to take on the best in the nation right out of the chute. We’ve got our team's attention, and we’ll have a good preseason, I promise you that. We played Florida after they had won 2 national championships, but they weren’t ranked in the top 25 when we played them. This is a step up from that. It's awfully exciting.”

This is part of the Legends Classic that we reported back in April that NDSU would play in, the Bison will then head to Pittsburgh to play 3 games against Youngstown State, Duquesne and James Madison.
