FARGO, N.D. (WDAY TV) - There is a new city block taking shape in downtown Fargo and it will mean a new home for the Family Health Care Center.
For more than a year contractors have been refurbishing four buildings on NP Avenue that will soon house medical care for 12,000 low-income people.
The old Pence Automobile Showroom on the corner of NP will be transformed into clinic and education rooms for the physicians, dentists and other practitioners.
The facility will meet a serious need from the homeless and refugee population, that otherwise uses the ER for health care.
Patricia Patron - Family Health Care Center: “If we did not have these we would have people go without care and struggling and seeking care that is not appropriate.”
The target date for opening the new center is this fall.
