Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The man on that motorcycle died. Eyewitnesses say it was a gruesome scene, smack in the middle of a neighborhood filled with children. It all unfolded this afternoon in Fargo.
This is the scene of the accident in the 15-hundred block of 34th avenue South. That's just south of the Hornbachers on 32nd. Jeremiah Berlin saw the whole thing.
Jeremiah: "he went around the block went to the end of the block, gave her the onions, he's coming down about 80 mph and I see him hit his break, he started squealing and the bike fish tailing."
The 26 year old Fargo man, wouldn't regain control. He smashed, square into this light pole -- Berlin estimates the victim was still going 45 miles per hour at impact and he wasn't wearing a helmet.
Jeremiah: "after that I saw his body lock up like a board, we tried to get the kids out of here and called the ambulance."
Other witnesses sprung into action -- before first responders would arrive Berlin and his neighbors tried to save the young mans life.
"initial reports from our dispatcher indicated that cpr was in progress if that was from one of the witnesses or if it was someone else who was involved in this some life saving efforts were made."
Jeremiah: "he took a couple of gasps for breath and that was about it."
Police are waiting to release the victims name.
