Munich, ND (WDAY TV) -- Fire has destroyed the grain elevator in Munich, North Dakota

A passer-by spotted the fire at the Munich Elevator and Oil Company about 3:30 Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters from more than half a dozen departments battled the blaze with the help of about a dozen farmers who brought in water trucks.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known. A damage estimate wasn't immediately available.
