Minnesota day care license suspended after infant's death

FARMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — State officials have suspended the license of a Minnesota day care provider following the death of a 3-month-old child.

FARMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — State officials have suspended the license of a Minnesota day care provider following the death of a 3-month-old child.

Police say the baby boy wasn't breathing when authorities received a 911 call Tuesday afternoon from the Farmington day care. Sgt. Lee Hollatz says there's no indication of any abuse.

A license suspension is the strongest action state regulators can impose, but authorities say it doesn't necessarily indicate the day care provider is at fault in the baby's death. The Star Tribune reports Dakota County officials did not issue any corrective orders in connection with the case.

It's the eighth death this year in a licensed child-care facility. All of them were at residential day care facilities.
