BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The Army Corps of Engineers is paying nearly $1 million for Missouri River bank repairs in the Hoge Island area north of Bismarck.

The area was damaged during flooding last summer, and at least one home was lost. North Dakota's congressional delegation says the project will replace nearly 11,000 tons of stone to help protect against future flooding.

Corps spokeswoman Monique Farmer tells The Bismarck Tribune that the work is to start next week and will take four months to complete.
