FARGO, N.D. (WDAY TV) - This is a big day. Sanford is hosting a groundbreaking celebration for its thousands of employees and their families.
Sanford is taking this groundbreaking ceremony to the limit. It'll all take place right near I-94 and Veterans Boulevard, and more than 15,000 Sanford employees and family members are expected to show up.
It's one of many events, part of Sanford Week.
From symposiums and socials, to community picnics, Sanford is welcoming what they call a $541 million medical destination.
It'll house 460 beds and it's designed to make things easier and more comfortable for staff and patients.
Dennis MIllirons, Sanford Medical Center President: "A good example of that is the distance between the bed and the bathroom. We can prevent falls by making a direct line in the shortest route possible."
Things start 7, with a groundbreaking ceremony and music, capping the night off with Train.
