BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota data network has opened a new operations center in Bismarck.
A grand opening and ribbon-cutting was held Monday for the center for the Dakota Carrier Network, which was created in 1996 by 15 independent telecommunications companies. It now serves more than 164,000 customers in 250 communities across the state. It also helps bring high-speed technology to all of North Dakota's schools and government offices.
The 42,000-square-foot operations center will serve as the base for network support and surveillance. The network has more than 20,000 miles of fiber optic cable in service.
