11th annual Beans on the Bank crowns area's best chili
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (WDAZ TV) - Some of the best pots of chili in the region were whipped up along the bank of the Red River in East Grand Forks Saturday.
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (WDAZ TV) - Some of the best pots of chili in the region were whipped up along the bank of the Red River in East Grand Forks today.
This year is the 11th annual Beans On The Bank chili cook-off.
Organizations and teams from all over the Grand Forks area competed today for cash and prizes, including ones headed by Grand Forks Mayor Mike Brown and East Grand Forks Mayor Lynn Stauss.
Sampling started at noon with all you can eat chili for $5.
All the proceeds went to local charities.
Chefs say for a competition like this, an ordinary chili recipe won't do the trick.

Today’s big winner was from H&R block in Grand Forks, team name "Taco Chili" made by Sharon Peterson.
The group donated its $300 prize back to the Lions Club.
