WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — West Fargo's school board has agreed to buy as much as 12 acres of land for the possible construction of a new elementary school.
The district has been steadily gaining students. It has more than 7,500 students in kindergarten through the 12th grade, and officials expect enrollment to grow another 5% in the coming school year.
The land is about a half-mile east of Veterans Boulevard in Fargo. The Forum reports the district is paying $30,000 an acre.
The money will come from an $82.5 million bond issue that was recently approved by West Fargo voters to pay for school construction.
