Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A heated debate this afternoon at the Clay County Commission meeting as several people came to both protest and defend the Buffalo River Race Park. Many who live around the race park voiced their concern over constant noise with the motorcycle track on the south side of Highway 10.

Supporters and county workers said the track has already gone through the legal processes to obtain a permit and has abided by the noise level ordinances. The park's owner says he doesn't think the noise level is a problem and the county planner said noise levels read at okay levels when measured at this weekend's races.

Keith Berg - Against Race Track: "We're being discriminated for living out in the country because we can't use the county ordinances to protect us citizens because you can't get the Clay County sheriff's department to act up on it, because the Clay County planning and zoning had granted a conditional use permit."

Randy Olson - Favor of Keeping Track: "This is America, you have the ability to complain, you have the ability to let it run its due process, you have the ability to move if you don't like where you're at."

The commission decided it will do periodic noise checks to make sure decimal levels are in a lawful range.
