FARGO, N.D. (WDAY TV) - Some changes could be coming to Fargo's panhandling ordinance.
The city attorney's office presented the ordinances new language to the Commission tonight.
Key changes include: you will not be able to panhandle within 10 feet of any intersection, or highway on and off ramps.
The act will be prohibited on any median, bridge or tunnel, or within 20 feet of any school. Violations could result in up to a $500 fine.
Police Chief Keith Ternes says the new rules are necessary for the safety of the public.
