MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — One person was injured and five firefighters suffered heat exhaustion in a fire at a duplex in Minneapolis.
Deputy Chief Perry Ebner says firefighters were called to a northeast residence about 3 p.m. Sunday on a report of an explosion and fire. They found flames in the basement, first and second floors of the structure. Ebner says a section of one wall was pushed out by an explosion from an unknown source.
All of the residents were out of the house by the time firefighters arrived. One person was taken to a hospital. Firefighters worked in hot, steamy conditions and five were treated for heat exhaustion.
The Star Tribune says a crew from CenterPoint Energy arrived and shut off the gas.
